After serving our country in Korea with the Marine Corps Jim Seurer dedicated his
civilian career to the industrial & construction equipment business. Jim was
employed by several prominent industry leading companies in the upper-midwest.
In 1978 after 20 plus years of service & sales experience in these markets Jim
opened Forklift & Equipment Services, Inc. Jim had recognized that there was a
need for the service & sales of late model pre-owned equipment in the marketplace.
Many of the business owners Jim developed relationships with did not want to buy new
equipment. They were looking to buy equipment they could save money on and still
have life left in them, or they wanted to maintain the equipment they currently
owned. So the business was formed to meet the needs of these types of customers.
Saving them operating capital, expenses, and time. As a result of his business
practices and the reputation FESI has earned Jim has developed significant and
time-tested relationships throughout country that last to this day. These
relationships benefit FESI & it's customers everyday.
Jim's son Jay, and his daughter Jeanne fill active roles in continuing on the family
business that Jim started over 30yrs ago now. From his early days climbing on
forklifts Jay quickly began to absorb his father's knowledge of the equipment business.
When Jay attained his college degree he dedicated himself to the family business, and
today serves as the company's Vice President. Jeanne serves the company in many roles.
From "running the books" to taking incoming calls Jeanne is the "do all" gal who keeps
FESI running.
So that's FESI's story. We pride ourselves on our ability to meet tough challenges,
while saving business' expense. And we value the relationships we've developed over the years.
